Micah is the minister of students at Second. Micah and his wife Brandi moved to Union City from Tallassee, Alabama in Late February of 2008. He has a real heart to serve the Lord in seeing that His will be done in the lives of our next generation’s leaders. Micah has 5 other family members that are in vocational ministry. Both His grandfathers were pastors, with more than 100 years experience combined. Micah’s father Paul and his mother Cindy, are the founders of Damascus Road ministries in Gadsden, Alabama. They serve the Lord through camps, retreats, banquets and character education programs all over the Southeast United States. Paul is also the minister of music at Dwight Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL.
Micah’s twin brother Seth and his wife Brittany are serving as full-time Student Ministers at Cross Creek Community church in Hokes Bluff Alabama. Seth and Micah had an older brother Jared that enjoyed life to the fullest. He really understood what abundant life is. On July 5th 2005 23 year old Jared went to sleep here on this earth and woke with the angels in Heaven. Micah believes that Jared’s short life is proof that we are all just quickly passing through this planet. We must be about doing the Lords business.
Micah puts a large emphasis on Sunday school as the main Disciple tool that Second Baptist has. Second’s Wednesday night youth service “Refuge” is a huge part of Second’s student ministry. He was saved in a regular weekly service. On October 30th 1994 Micah invited the Almighty God to step out of heaven and into his heart, at that moment the emptiness and search for longing was gone. At the young age of 16 Micah started leading Worship in his youth group. In early June of 2000 at a FCA football camp Micah accepted God's call to vocational ministry.
Micah graduated from the Baptist College of Florida in December 2006 with a 3.8 GPA. He finished with a BA degree in Church Music and a double minor in piano and bible.
Micah likes to write music, his song "Love You" is playing now. He plays guitar and sings om the recording. His motto is, “The most important thing in life is knowing God and Making Him known”
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”
